Privacy Policy

1. Introduction & Ownership

This Privacy Policy applies to the Daily Nectar mobile application (package identifier com.dailynectar.app) distributed through Google Play and official direct distribution channels.

Daily Nectar is curated and engineered by independent developer Gajendra Vishwakarma (notjustadesigner.me). Scripture translations and purports are the devotional literary works of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. Copyright for original printed works is held by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT).

2. Offline Reading & Guest Mode (No Account Required)

Daily Nectar requires no registration, sign-in, email submission, or phone number to read sacred literature:

• Local Scripture Database: Canonical scripture titles, cantos, chapters, verses, transliterations, synonyms, and translations reside in an app-private SQLite database (vedabase.db) packaged with the app.
• Local Bookmarks & Notes: Verses you bookmark, personal reflections you write, and favorite bhajans remain in your device's app-private storage (bookmarks.db).
• Local Reading Progress: Reading streaks, chapter completion counts, and session duration timers are tracked locally in reading_manager.db.

In Guest mode, zero bytes of reading behavior, notes, or hardware identifiers are transmitted to external servers.

3. Optional Account Sign-In & Cloud Synchronization

Devotees may optionally sign in to synchronize bookmarks, song favorites, and reading positions across multiple Android devices.

A. Authentication Methods

• Google Sign-In: Powered by Android Credential Manager and Google Identity Services (com.google.android.libraries.identity.googleid).
• Email Authentication: Powered by Daily Nectar Account Services with optional Firebase Authentication.

B. Information Processed Upon Sign-In

• Display Name: Sourced from your Google profile or account registration to personalize greetings.
• Email Address: Used as your unique account identifier and for account recovery.
• Profile Photo URL: (Optional) Provided by Google Sign-In for avatar display.
• User Identifier (UID): An alphanumeric identifier linking your cloud records.

C. Cloud Sync Data & Storage

When signed in, study records are securely transmitted over HTTPS to our backend services at api.notjustadesigner.me and Google Cloud Firestore:

• Bookmarked verse identifiers and user reflections.
• Reading progress (book codes, completed chapters, last-read timestamps).
• Favorite Vaishnava song selections.

Personal reflections and backup data are protected using authenticated AES-256-GCM encryption at rest prior to cloud storage.

4. Voluntary Devotional Contributions (Direct Flavor Only)

In direct-distribution APK builds, Daily Nectar offers an optional voluntary contribution flow supporting scripture preservation and hosting costs. In Google Play Store builds, all voluntary contributions and external payment links are disabled in accordance with Google Play Developer Policies.

A. Payment Processing

Payments are processed via PayU Checkout Pro, authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), with Cashfree Payments maintained as an alternative payment aggregator.

B. Contribution Amount Guidelines

• Presets: ₹50, ₹100, ₹300, and ₹500.
• Custom Amount: Whole numbers from ₹10 to ₹100,000 inclusive.
• Strict Validation: Fractional/decimal amounts (e.g. ₹50.50) and amounts below ₹10 or above ₹100,000 are rejected by both client-side and server-side payment validators.

C. Financial Privacy Safeguards

• Zero Credential Storage: Daily Nectar servers never see, collect, or store credit/debit card numbers, CVVs, expiration dates, UPI PINs, or netbanking credentials. All card entry occurs within the RBI-regulated checkout interface.
• Statutory Transaction Logging: Transaction order IDs, amounts, payment modes, and contact receipts are handled by the payment gateway pursuant to applicable banking, tax, and anti-money laundering regulations.

6. Advertising & Third-Party Analytics

• Zero Advertisements: Daily Nectar is completely ad-free. No AdMob, Facebook Audience Network, or commercial advertising SDKs are included.
• Zero Behavioral Profiling: We do not include third-party marketing trackers (such as Adjust, AppsFlyer, or commercial analytics SDKs).
• No Data Brokering: User data is never sold, traded, or monetized with data brokers or commercial third parties.

7. Data Retention & Account Deletion

You maintain full ownership of your data and can request deletion at any time:

• In-App Deletion: Open Daily Nectar, go to Settings → Devotee Profile, and tap Delete Account & Remove Cloud Data. This revokes your session and queues deletion of your cloud synchronization records.
• Web Deletion: Devotees who uninstalled the app can submit a deletion request via our Account Deletion Page or by emailing hello@notjustadesigner.me.

Local reading data on your physical device remains in your control until you clear application data or uninstall the application. Financial contribution records are retained solely as required by statutory tax and accounting standards.

8. Security Architecture

• All API communication is strictly encrypted in transit via TLS/HTTPS (cleartext HTTP traffic is disabled).
• Cloud reflections and backup data are protected using AES-256-GCM encryption at rest.
• Internal Android application components are protected with android:exported="false" to prevent unauthorized inter-process communication.
• Production release builds are minified, obfuscated, and stripped of debug symbols using R8.
